Tennessee’s five-run fourth inning propelled the Smokies to a 6-1 win over Chattanooga … RHP Jeff Samardzija helped his own cause by doubling and scoring a run in the contest.

HOMERS – Chris Robinson (1)

? LF Matt Camp was 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored, marking his third three-hit affair over his last seven games.
? CF Tyler Colvin, who was 2-for-5, drove in two runs, picking up his 12th RBI of the year, good for second on the Smokies.

? LHP Ed Campusano (1.1), RHP Jesse Estrada (1.0), and RHP Rocky Roquet (1.0) combined to toss 3.1 scoreless innings of relief, allowing two hits, walking two, and striking out one.

Iowa Cubs (AAA): 13-17 Overall

Northern Division Tied, 2nd Place (-2.5)

Sacramento jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, defeating Iowa, 16-7.

RHP Justin Berg (L 0-2, 14.09): 1.1 IP, 7 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 3 BB, 0 K

HOMERS – Jake Fox (6)

? RF Andres Torres went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, extending his hitting streak to 21 games (30-for-79, .380) … his .375 batting average is ranked tied for ninth in the Pacific Coast League.

?1B Jake Fox was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, driving in his team-leading 26th RBI … he is hitting at a .500 (9-for-18) clip with five doubles, two homers, one walk, two stolen bases, eight RBI, and seven runs scored over his last four games.

Daytona Cubs (A+): 16-15 Overall

East Division Tied, 3rd Place (-4.0)

Daytona’s bats came alive, especially late in the game, as the Cubs scored seven runs in the final two innings, beating the Miracle, 9-1.

RHP Esmailin Caridad (W 3-2, 5.17): 6.2 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

? Daytona’s trio of pitchers (Esmailin Caridad, Jeremy Papelbon, and Grant Johnson) combined to surrender just one run on seven hits, while walking one and striking out two for the win.

? Seven different Daytona batters chipped in with at least one RBI … 3B Josh Lansford recorded the team’s only two-RBI game.
?RF Jim Adduci went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored … his .350 batting average ranks third in the Florida State League.


Peoria Chiefs: 11-19 Overall

Western Division 8th Place (-10.5)

Peoria got on the board first, but didn’t break the game open until a three-run seventh inning to take the 5-2 victory over Cedar

RHP Billy Muldowney (ND 0-0 2.35): 3.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K

HOMERS – Josh Donaldson (3), Cliff Anderson (2)

? RF Cliff Anderson put the Chiefs on top for good with his one-out, three-run homer in the seventh frame … he returned to the leadoff spot for the first time since April 16 and flourished, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.

? RHP Stephen Vento appeared in his team-leading 11th game, converting his second save in as many chances, as well as recording his seventh scoreless and fourth hitless outings of the season.
