Game 1: Behind a strong I-Cubs pitching performance and timely hitting, Iowa blanked Portland, 3-0.

LHP Rich Hill tossed 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits, walking four, and fanning eight … he owns a 1-1 mark with a 1.69 (2 ER/10.2 IP) in two starts with Iowa.

? C Koyie Hill was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI, recording his first multi-RBI game of the season.
? CF-LF Andres Torres saw his 24-game hitting streak come to an end, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts … the streak ranks fourth-longest in I-Cub history.

Game 2: Portland got on the board first, but Iowa prevailed with a three-run fourth to top the Beavers, 3-2.

Huntsville’s bats proved red hot once again as the Stars beat the Smokies, 7-2 … Huntsville out-hit Tennessee, 15-5.

RF Ryan Harvey and 1B Fox plated Tennessee’s lone runs on a pair

Despite both teams connecting for 13 hits in the contest, Clinton pushed across more runs, defeating the Chiefs, 12-4.

Suspension: Chiefs manager Ryne Sandberg served his second of a three-game suspension after a verbal altercation with Clinton manager Mike Micucci that led to Sandberg being ejected. This is Sandberg’s second suspension and seventh ejection since taking over as Peoria’s manager last season.
