Iowa won their sixth straight game with a 10-6 victory over Portland … The Cubs scored early and often, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead, before breaking the game open with a four-run eighth inning.

? CF Tyler Colvin had a perfect day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two homers, and five RBI … he launched a solo shot with two outs in the first then connected for a three-run blast with one out in the third.
? 2B Nate Spears went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, recording his first three-hit affair of the year.

Daytona Cubs (A+): 18-19 Overall
East Division Tied 3rd Place (-4.0)

Daytona battled back to regain the lead with a two-run fifth inning and never looked back, beating the Manatees, 7-4 … The Cubs ‘pen combined for 7.0 innings of shutout relief.

RHP Jose Ceda (ND 2-1, 5.52) 2.0 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 0 K

? 3B Jonathan Mota, who was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI, extended his hitting streak to seven games … is 9-for-28 (.321) with a double, a run scored, and six RBI over the span.
? 1B Blake Lalli went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, an RBI, and a run scored, marking his second multi-double game of the year.
? LHP Darin Downs picked up his first win of the season after tossing 3.0 shutout innings of relief, allowing three hits and striking out two … he extended his scoreless innings streak to 9.0 frames.
