Iowa answered Omaha’s early three-run outburst in the second with one of their own in the third, and hung on for the 5-4 victory.

? RF Andres Torres went 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI … his three-run homer in the top of the third erased Omaha’s 3-1 lead putting the I-Cubs in front for good.
? LF Matt Murton went 2-for-3 with a walk, a homer, a run scored and an RBI, raising his average to .368 and his on-base percentage to .478 … the home run, a solo shot in the fifth, was his first of the year.
? LHP Neal Cotts pitched a perfect ninth inning, striking out two, to earn his first save of the year … he has not allowed a run in 14 of his 17 relief appearances, while holding the opponent hitless in six of those outings.
Tennessee couldn’t overcome Montgomery’s nine-run, fifth-inning as they fell to the Biscuits, 11-5.

HOMERS – Joe Simokaitis (2)
? 2B-P Joe Simokaitis got the Smokies on the scoreboard in the sixth inning with a solo shot, his second home run of the year … he ended the day 1-for-4 with a homer, a run scored and an RBI.
? Simokaitis also pitched 1.0 scoreless innings in relief, yielding one hit and striking out one.
? LF Jake Fox went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI … he has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games.
Daytona fell behind 3-0 after two innings, but scored once in the sixth and three times in the eighth to complete the comeback and take a 4-3 victory, their fifth in a row.

? 1B Blake Lalli provided the offense for the Cubs, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI … his bases-clearing double in the eighth proved to be the decisive hit of the ballgame.
? RF Jim Adduci went 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored … his .331 average and .418 on-base percentage are fourth and fifth respectively in the Florida State League.
? RHP Dumas Garcia threw a perfect ninth inning with a strikeout, picking up his fifth save in as many chances.
? LF Ty Wright, who was 2-for-3 with a run scored, is hitting at a .556 (5-for-9) clip with a double, two walks, two runs scored and four RBI over his last three games.

Peoria could not get the offense going as they were blanked by Quad Cities, 6-0.
