? CF Felix Pie put the I-Cubs on the board early with a solo homer in the first frame … he ended the day 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base, a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI.
? 3B Casey McGehee led the Cubs offense, going 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, one run scored, and four RBI.
? On the same day as his call-up from Tennessee, RHP Jim Henderson made his first appearance with Iowa, tossing a 1-2-3 eighth inning, striking out one.

North Division 5th Place (-14.5)

Mississippi led the game the entire way, fending off a late-inning Tennessee rally, to beat the Smokies, 8-4.

RHP Jeff Samardzija (L 3-4, 6.14)

? 2B Nate Spears went 3-for-4 with a pair of two-baggers and two runs scored, recording his first multi-double game of the season.
? 1B Matt Craig, who was 2-for-3 with three RBI, is 6-for-9 with three walks over his last three games.
? LHP Chris Shaver tossed a shutout ninth, walking one and striking out one … he extended his scoreless inning streak to 13.0.

Daytona never recovered from Clearwater’s five-run first inning, falling to the Threshers, 9-3.

HOMERS – Ryan Harvey (2)

? LF Ty Wright, who was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, is hitting at a .538 (7-for-13) clip with a double, two walks, three runs scored and five RBI over his last four games.
? DH Ryan Harvey connected for a two-run homer in the first, marking his second roundtripper of the year … on the night was 2-for-4 with a homer, a run scored, and two RBI.
? Daytona’s ‘pen combined to throw 5.0 innings of one-run, four-hit ball, including 1-2-3 eighth and ninth innings by LHP Darin Downs and RHP Blake Lalli, respectively.

Peoria snapped their seven-game losing streak with a 10-6, 10 inning victory over Quad Cities.

HOMERS – Dylan Johnston (6)

? 1B Luis Bautista fell a homer shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, three runs scored, and four RBI.
? 3B Jovan Rosa went 2-for-5 to extend his on-base streak to 14 games … his is batting .373 (19-for-51) with eight doubles, one homer, seven walks and nine RBI over the stretch.
? RF Dylan Johnston made his lone hit of the day count when he belted a one-out, three-run homer in the second inning.
? RHP Stephen Vento struck out four and allowed one hit over his 2.0 innings of scoreless relief, recording his fourth win of the season.
