Tennessee snapped a four-game winning streak with an 8-1 loss to Carolina.

? CF Sam Fuld, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI, recorded his third multi-hit game in his last four starts … he drove in his second RBI of the year with an RBI-single in the eighth.
? SS Matt Camp was 1-for-4, collecting his team-leading 50th hit of the year in the sixth.
? RHP Grant Johnson allowed just one hit and walked one in his 0.2 innings pitched, marking his seventh scoreless outing of the season.

Memphis pitching held Iowa scoreless through eight and their bats came alive for six runs on 14 hits, as the Redbirds beat the Cubs, 6-1.

? RF Josh Kroeger recorded Iowa’s lone multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a double … his two-bagger in the ninth ended his10-game span without an extra-base hit.
? 3B Casey McGehee plated the Cubs sole run when he grounded out to second in the ninth, marking his team-leading 29th RBI of the year.
? RHP Hector Carrasco held the Redbirds scoreless over 2.0 innings of relief, allowing two hits, walking one, and striking out three … he has shut out opponents over his last three appearances (4.1 IP), lowering his ERA from 8.22 to 5.25.

Brevard County erased Daytona’s early 3-0 lead with a four-run fifth inning, holding on to defeat the Cubs, 7-4.

Cedar Rapids evened the season series at 2-2 with its 5-3 win over Peoria.

? 2B Marquez Smith led Peoria’s offense, going 3-for-4 with a homer, an RBI and a run scored … he extended his hitting streak to eight games, hitting at a .423 (11-for-26) clip with a double, two homers, and five RBI over the span.
? 3B Jovan Rosa, who was 1-for-4 on the night, ranks seventh in the Midwest League with a .311 batting average (50-for-161).
