Iowa won its seventh straight, tying its season-high win streak, edging Memphis, 4-3 … the Cubs have outscored opponents 44-18 over the stretch.

? RHP Randy Wells won his fourth straight decision, yielding just one run on five hits, while walking none and striking out four over six frames … in two June starts, he is 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA (1 ER/11.0 IP) … has struck out 44 compared to walking 13 over his 49.1 innings pitched this season.
? 2B Eric Patterson, who went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI, recorded his 17th multi-hit affair of the season and third in his last five games … he extended his current hitting streak to 11 games, going 19-for-48 (.396) with one walk, three doubles, four homers, 13 runs scored and 11 RBI over the stretch.

? RF Ryan Harvey recorded his first multi-homer game of the season, belting a solo shot in the seventh inning and a two-run roundtripper in the ninth … he is hitting at a .320 (8-for-25) clip in seven road games, compared to a .244 (10-for-41) batting average in 11 games at home.
? C Steve Clevenger went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI, recording multi-hit affairs in six of his last seven games … he has hit in eight straight games, going 18-for-32 (.563) with five walks, six runs scored and eight RBI over the stretch.
? LF Ty Wright plated his team-leading 30th run in the third frame … he is 3-for-8 (.375) with a double, two runs scored and a RBI over his last two games.

Quad Cities drove in six runs in the third, ending Peoria’s four-game win streak as the River Bandits beat the Chiefs, 8-5.

HOMERS – Marquez Smith (10)

? 2B Marquez Smith belted a two-out, two-run homer in the third inning, his 10th of the year … he ended the day 2-for-3 with the homer, two walks, a run scored, and a season-high four RBI … he has reached base safely in nine straight games, recording a hit in the last five.
? SS Nate Samson was 2-for-2 with a run scored and a RBI … he has hit safely, and driven in a run, in each of his last four games, going 8-for-16 with one walk, two doubles, five runs scored and five RBI over the stretch.
? RHP Jordan Latham (2.0 IP) retired all six batters he faced yesterday, striking out four … he has yet to allow a run in three June appearances (5.1 IP).
