Iowa scored in each of the first five frames to build a 6-1 lead and held on for a 7-5 victory over the Isotopes … The I-Cubs went 6-4 in the 10-game stretch against Albuquerque.

HOMERS – Jason Dubois (10), Bobby Scales (10)

? 1B Jason Dubois homered for the second straight game, finishing the day 1-for-2 with a walk, the home run, two runs scored and an RBI before being lifted as part of a double-switch.
? 2B Bobby Scales went 2-for-4 with a walk, a homer, a run scored and an RBI … he finished the 10-game series against the Isotopes 14-for-35 (.400) with three doubles, two homers, 10 runs scored and 9 RBI.
? Starter Jeff Samardzija earned his first win at Iowa in his second start, tossing 6.0 innings of one-run, four-hit ball.

The Smokies broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the seventh on their way to defeating the Diamond Jaxx, 4-1.

HOMERS – Mark Reed (1)

? C Mark Reed led off the seventh inning with a home run to put the Smokies in front for good … he went 1-for-4 with the roundtripper in his first game since his promotion from Daytona.
? 2B Nate Spears went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI to raise his average to .313 … he has hit in six straight contests, going 12-for-29 (.414) with two doubles, seven runs scored and five RBI over that span.
? RHP Jose Ceda tossed 2.0 scoreless innings of one-hit ball, fanning three to earn his third save … he has allowed just one earned run in his first 8.2 innings pitched with Tennessee (1.04 ERA), yielding seven hits and two walks while striking out 15.

Daytona tied the game in the ninth inning but it took 11 more frames to decide the outcome, as Lakeland finally pushed across the game-winner on an error in the bottom of the 20th to beat Daytona, 3-2.

? 2B-3B Robinson Chirinos reach base five times, going 2-for-5 with a three walks, a double and two runs scored.
? Seven Daytona relievers combined to toss 16.1 innings, walking 11 (four intentional) but allowing only four hits and one unearned run while fanning 16.
? The game featured 37 players, including 20 from the Flying Tigers.

Western Division Tied, 4th Place (-2.0)

Peoria took the lead on an RBI-single in the fourth frame and the bullpen finished the job, leading the Chiefs past Kane County for their sixth straight win, 4-3.

? 2B Elvis Lara plated the go-ahead run in the fourth as part of a 3-for-4 day, including a run and an RBI … the three hits mark a season high.
? DH Luis Bautista went 2-for-4 with an RBI … he has hit in five straight, including four multi-hit affairs, going 9-for-21 (.429) with three doubles, two homers, three runs scored and five RBI over that stretch.
? RHP Jordan Latham tossed 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing one hit while fanning one to earn his first save of the year.

Yakima scored in the top of the ninth to take a one-run lead, but the Hawks pushed across two runs of their own to walk off with a 5-4 triumph.

HOMERS – Rebel Ridling (2)

? PH-DH Ryan Keedy singled home the tying run in his only at-bat, pinch-hitting for Michael Brenly in the ninth inning.
? 1B Rebel Ridling got the Hawks on the board with a three-run shot in the fourth inning … he finished the game 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI.
? 3B Josh Vitters went 1-for-4 with a run scored to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.

The AZL Cubs jumped out to an 11-0 lead through three innings and cruised to an 18-1 pasting of the AZL Royals.
