? 1B Sean Hoorelbeke had the lone multi-hit game for the Cubs, going 2-for-3 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI … it was his ninth multi-hit game, raising his average to .394.
? RHP John Lieber and LHP Scott Eyre both made rehab appearances, combining for 4.0 innings of four-hit ball, walking one and striking out one.

? RF Doug Deeds went 4-for-5 with two doubles, and a run scored, raising his average to .350 … it marks the fourth time in his last five games he has recorded three or more hits, pulling him into second place for the Southern League batting title (behind Huntsville’s Mat Gamel, .362).
? DH Jake Fox homered for the second straight game, finishing the day 2-for-4 with a walk, the longball, three runs scored and two RBI.
? RHP Dumas Garcia tossed 2.0 perfect innings of relief, fanning two … he has not allowed a hit in his last five appearances, walking just one while punching out eight over those outings (7.0 IP).

? RHP Todd Blackford tossed 2.2 perfect innings, striking out two to earn his fourth victory in his last five outings … he has not allowed a run in his last six appearances, extending his scoreless inning streak to 13.1 innings.

HOMERS – Bobbie Scales (12)

? C Koyie Kill logged his second four-hit affair in his last six games, going 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored … he has hit in six straight games, going 14-for-21 (.667) with two doubles, a homer, four runs scored and four RBI over that stretch.
? Starter Randy Wells tossed 6.0 innings of one-run, five-hit ball but did not factor in the decision … seven of his last 10 starts have been quality starts.
