The Smokies and Biscuits were tied at 3-3 after six, but Tennessee pushed ahead in the bottom of the 10th, edging Montgomery, 4-3 in 10 frames … Tennessee improves to 6-3 in extra-inning contests.

HOMERS – Jake Fox (12)

? LF Tyler Colvin plated the game-winning run with a single through the hole at second … he ended the day 2-for-4 with a walk and his team-leading 50th RBI.
? LHP Ed Campusano (2.0) and RHP Matt Avery (3.0) combined for 5.0 scoreless innings of relief, yielding four hits and fanning three … Avery recorded his third win of the season.

HOMERS – Koyie Hill (10)

? C Koyie Hill recorded the lone Iowa multi-hit affair, going 2-for-4 with a two-out, three run homer in the eighth inning … he is 16-for-25 (.640) with two doubles, two homers, five runs scored, eight RBI and four multi-hit contests over his seven game hit streak.
? RF Josh Kroeger was 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and two RBI … he has hit safely in six straight, and 11 of his last 12 games.

? RF Kyler Burke recorded a season-high four hits, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and two RBI … he raised his average from .152 to .186.
? In his second outing with Boise, RHP Christopher Carpenter recorded his first win, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings of relief, yielding one hit, walking none, and fanning three.


Mesa Cubs (R): 15-10 Overall

Mesa snapped its five-game winning streak with a 10-4 setback to the AZL Rangers.

? 2B Vincent Watkins, who was 3-for-4, is hitting at a .800 (4-for-5) clip over his first two games with Mesa.
? RHP Yohan Gonzalez tossed 3.0 scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit, no walks, while striking out three … he lowered his ERA from 4.20 to 3.50.
