Peoria and Kane County had their Road to Wrigley game postponed due to rain with runners at first and second and one out in a 6-6 game in the bottom of the ninth … the game will be resumed tonight at Peoria prior to the regularly scheduled game between the Chiefs and Cougars.

Iowa Cubs (AAA): 65-45 Overall

Iowa rode the strength of a six-run sixth inning, smashing Las Vegas, 12-7.

HOMERS – Koyie Hill (13)

? C Koyie Hill went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a homer, three runs scored and two RBI … he has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, going 24-for-41 (.585) with four doubles, five homers, 12 runs scored and 16 RBI over that stretch.
? RF Josh Kroeger went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI … he finished the four-game series 9-for-14 (.643) with four doubles, four runs scored and five RBI.
? 1B Micah Hoffpauir doubled twice as part of a 2-for-6 day with a run scored and three RBI … he continues his blistering July, where he has logged 16 doubles, six homers, 17 runs scored, 32 RBI and a 1.195 OPS in 18 games.

Tennessee Smokies (AA): 20-18 Overall

Tennessee scored five times over the final three innings, but it was not enough to overcome an early 8-0 deficit, as the Smokies fell to Mobile, 9-5.

HOMERS – Tyler Colvin (8)

? LF Tyler Colvin blasted a two-run, ninth-inning home run as part of a 1-for-4 day with a run scored and two RBI … marked his first long ball in over a month (6/28).
? RHP Dumas Garcia tossed 1.0 inning of scoreless relief, yielding a pair of hits while fanning one … he extended his scoreless streak to 11.1 innings, yielding just five hits and three walks while punching out 10 over that stretch.

Boise Hawks (A-): 26-16 Overall

Boise tied the game with two runs in the top of the eighth, but the Volcanoes walked off winners with a run in the bottom of the ninth to take the game, 4-3.

HOMERS – Ryan Keedy (2)

? 1B Ryan Keedy recorded his fourth straight multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a double, a roundtripper, two runs scored and two RBI … he is 11-for-18 (.611) with three doubles, a homer, four runs scored and five RBI over that span.
? RHP Dan McDaniel struck out the side in his only inning of relief work … in nine appearances, he has allowed just four hits and five walks while punching out 25 over 14.1 innings of work, good for a 0.63 WHIP and a 15.70 K/9 IP rate.
? RHP Josh Whitlock tossed 3.0 innings of two-hit, shutout relief, fanning two … he has yielded four hits and a walk while fanning five over 6.2 scoreless innings in his last two relief appearances.

Mesa came from behind twice, scoring three runs in the top of the eighth and hanging on for an 8-7 triumph over the AZL Athletics.

HOMERS – Starlin Castro (3), Nelson Perez (9), Junior Lake (2)

? RF Nelson Perez hit his Arizona League-leading ninth homer of the year as part of a 1-for-4 day, with a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base … he also leads the league with 34 RBI.
? CF TeWayne Willis went 4-for-4 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base … he broke a five-game hitless drought, raising his average from .210 to .258.
? LHP Jeffry Antigua tossed 3.2 perfect innings of relief, fanning three.
