Daytona finished a 4-1 decision over the St. Lucie Mets, a game that was suspended in the top of the fifth inning Wednesday night because of rain … the game officially ended at 7:18 p.m. Thursday night, 24 hours and 10 minutes after the first pitch was thrown … in the process, the Cubs set a new season attendance mark as the first game’s announced crowd of 1,583 pushed this year’s total to 147,762, passing the previous record of 147,677 set in 2006.
