Friday and Saturday games at Houston postponed

As has been reported, everyone has been keeping an eye on Hurrican Ike as it makes its way through the Southeast. Because of the potential threat in the Houston area, the Friday and Saturday night games will be postponed to another date. Below is the press release from the Astros:

Rescheduled dates for the postponed games have yet to be determined

HOUSTON, TX —  The Houston Astros announced today that the club has postponed the games scheduled for Friday (Sept. 12) and Saturday (Sept. 13) against the Chicago Cubs because of the potential impact of Hurricane Ike on the Houston area.  The announcement was made by Astros President of Business Operations Pam Gardner.

There are various scenarios under consideration with regards to the rescheduling of the postponed games.

Fans that have tickets to the Friday and/or Saturday night games should retain those tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled game dates once those dates are determined.

The Astros continue their series against the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight at 7:05 PM at Minute Maid Park.

I couldn’t believe that McLane wanted to play those games a day after a major hurricane went through the Galveston-Houston area. There’s a lot of nutjobs in the world, but this guy takes the top prize—trying to play baseball in the face of human suffering.

Thankfully, they wised up and moved the series to a (not-so) neutral site at Miller Park.

Go Cubs let’s take two!

Hopefully our Cubbies will take both games at “Wrigley North”. Like cubsfan said, unbelievable that McLane wanted to play those games after a hurricane went through Houston. People there have FAR more pressing concerns than baseball right now.
