Tennessee and Daytona earned victories while Iowa, Kane County and Mesa all fell Tuesday. Boise’s game was rained out. Here are the highlights from yesterday’s action.

Iowa Cubs (39-41)

Iowa was limited to one hit in a 7-0 loss at Memphis.

  • Recently promoted CF Jae-Hoon Ha (.222) went 1-for-3.
  • RHP Casey Coleman (4.1 IP, 3 H, R, BB, 4 K), RHP Eduardo Sanchez (2.0 IP, BB, 2 K) and RHP Marcus Hatley (IP, BB) combined for 7.1 innings of one-run, three-hit relief.

Tennessee Smokies (4-3)

  • CF Matt Szczur (.301) extended his hitting streak to five games, going 3-for-6 with a walk, a double (17), a run scored, an RBI (34) and a stolen base (17).
  • 1B Justin Bour (.238) reached base three times, going 2-for-5 with a walk, a double (5), two runs and an RBI (21).
  • 3B Elliot Soto (.163) went 2-for-3 with a third-inning solo homer.
  • LHP Hunter Cervenka (2-1, 6.75) earned the win in relief, fanning four in 1.2 perfect innings.

Daytona Cubs (5-1)

Daytona won its fourth straight game and its seventh in the last eight contests, defeating visiting Lakeland 5-2.

  • 3B Wes Darvill (.253) went 2-for-4 with a triple (1), a run scored and three RBI (6).
  • CF Pin-Chieh Chen (.400) reached base three times, going 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI (3) and two stolen bases (4).
  • C Yaniel Cabezas (.207) went 2-for-4.
  • RHP Matt Loosen, the reigning Florida State League Pitcher of the Week, retired the final 18 batters he faced.

Kane County Cougars (0-5)

Kane County dropped to 0-5 in the second half, falling to visiting Beloit 9-5.

  • CF Albert Almora (.363) went 2-for-5 with two doubles (10) and two runs scored.
  • 1B Dan Vogelbach (.265) reached base three times, going 2-for-4 with a walk, a run and a stolen base (4).
  • 3B Jeimer Candelario (.257) was 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI (25).
  • DH Rock Shoulders (.272) was 2-for-5.

Mesa Cubs (1-4)

Mesa dropped its third game in a row, falling to the host AZL Giants 14-4.

  • C Erick Castillo (.571) went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
  • CF Rashad Crawford (.125) went 1-for-4 with a double (1), a run scored and an RBI (2).
